Hmhm, so, does he have connections to the royal family as well? At this rate, he will be able to crush that family name completely, the civilians don’t like them, a family of famous mages is supporting him, his war merits.. He is cornering them and not allowing them to respond.

The only saving grace would be if they as a family is valuable to the country, or have some sort of political power that allow them to either retaliate or stop others from intervening.
But from what we can tell here, they don’t have something like that, all they have is military might for some reason..
