From what I’ve seen of the ex girlfriend, I don’t like her at all. Dude had a pretty good job as a game developer in a big company but that wasn’t enough.
Go ahead and be a career woman that climbs that corporate ladder but expecting your partner to be equal or higher status just makes you unlikable.
A pretty good job is all that he has, she left him because he was lazy a hell. It was explained in the first chapter of the story, no ambition, no will of his own, everything he did was because someone else told him. He didn’t try to get better and so him go dumped
